We spent our English lesson this morning thinking about the dangerous things we managed to avoid during our expedition to the Arctic. These included:
– Walking across the avalanche mountains
– Walking with our backs to a giant glacier trying to avoid the huge crevasse in the ground
– The lair of the polar bear
– Stepping across the flat icy plain (tundra).
For each of these, we thought carefully about what we could see and hear around us as well as how we felt at the time. We worked hard to create our own word banks containing very descriptive words and phrases. These will really help us tomorrow when it comes to writing a recount of the journey.
